I had the opportunity to VFX supervise & composite a series of spots for Harvard University. I was responsible for supervising on set to make sure we were able to accomplish our set extension and shadow replacements for their respective spots. Working closely with the Director & DP, we streamlined the VFX process and we all in alignment on direction before we even left set.
In total, 23 unique spots were delivered, and broken out to mutliple sizes for various platforms and social media.

Process
We had a portion of the stairs built out practically. My role was to make ensure that we could realistically extend the stairs to continue out of frame indefinitely.
Before wrapping for the day, I coordinated with the DP to get a few perspectives on our stairs so I would have flexibility once I started compositing.
I used those to extend the top of the stairs, masking the risers and tread to give a realistic perspective. I then created a cover to the front panel, texturing and adjusting lighting so it fit naturally into the scene. The front shadows on the floor also needed to be extended and matched to the original shadows caught in camera. Lastly, the background light was extended to cover up with gap and light fixture.
